Mr Nigel Horlock trained at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington then worked at Nottingham for his general surgical training. He wrote his thesis while at Mount Vernon Hospital on the genetic abnormalities of skin cancers. Mr Horlock’s plastic surgical training was at Mount Vernon Hospital Northwood, Queen Victoria Hospital East Grinstead, The Royal Marsden and the Wellington Hospital.
His plastic surgery training was broad-based in all aspects of burns, reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, hand surgery and cosmetic surgery. He now specialises in cosmetic surgery and reconstructive microsurgery of the face, head and neck and breast.
Mr Horlock was an aesthetic fellow (Cosmetic) at the Wellington Hospital London and covered all aspects of aesthetic surgery. He also studied micro-surgical breast reconstruction at the University of Ghent, Belgium.
Southampton cosmetic surgeon Mr Horlock further developed his skills in head and neck oncology and breast reconstruction at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
His NHS practice is based in the regional plastics unit at Salisbury District Hospital. He covers Salisbury, Southampton and Dorchester. He sees patients in his private practice at Southampton, Salisbury, Dorchester and Bournemouth.
He believes that consultation and meticulous planning is essential for a good outcome in aesthetic surgery.
Mr Horlock is married with children. He is busy in both professional and family life, but enjoys watersports and skiing.
